osmikonSEARCH offers researchers and other interested individuals the unique opportunity to search for press reports on Eastern, Eastern Central and Southeastern Europe in a region-specific and daily updated excerpt from the news archive of the German foreign broadcaster Deutsche Welle. All reports and analyses that have appeared since 2010 on the online portal of the channel DW.com for "Focus Eastern Europe" and "Focus Southeastern Europe" have been included. The database is updated daily with the latest news about the region and grows weekly by about 10 to 20 articles.
The news archive can be searched both in full text and using keywords freely assigned by Deutsche Welle.
The main focus of the archived reports is on political topics. The focal points are especially the general political and economic development of the states, crises and conflicts, the situation of human, basic and women's rights, freedom of the press and freedom of opinion, as well as migration and refugees.
